Indeed! Unfortunately, when that sort of thing happens on the subway, as it sometimes does, the passengers find it neither erotic nor epistemic, but ennoyously enorganic enough to move to a different car. I personally don’t mind, unless the train is very full, in which case I admit, I turn prudish and try to elbow my way into the seat furthest away.
